Mr. Ar Rm Arun, led a 34 member FICCI business delegation to Taiwan as Co-chairman of the Taiwan-India Cooperation Council. The delegation attended a 2-day Seminar on Investment Environment in India organised by the Chinese National Association of Industry & Commerce (CNAIC), Taiwan & Co-organised by : Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) & India-Taipei Association (ITA)

Mr. Arun delivered the Theme address at the seminar presenting Business Opportunities in Electronics Hardware Manufacturing Sector in India. His presentation started with an indepth introduction about India, highlighting its economic standing in the global scenario. With a special mention of the retail boom in India, the presentation further expounded on the Electronics Hardware Manufacturing industry in Industry. Detailing the various components of the industry, Mr. Arun presented information about the Scope & manufacturing within Electronics, Telecom, Semiconductors & Solar.

The last 2 sections of is presentation focused on India as a favourite Investment destination and the India-Taiwan Growth Opportunities. Mr. Arun presented the eco-system and the investment friendly environment within India that make it a choice destination. He also listed specific reasons why India makes a perfect Manufacturing Hub for Electronics Hardware. He concluded his presentation with growth opportunities for Taiwan within India in 4 major sectors, namely; Electronics Hardware, Infrastructure, Manufacturing and R & D.

Mr. Arun first delivered the presentation at the Seminar on Investment Environment in India, held at the Taipei International Convention Center on Jan 18, 2011. The 70+ members of the audience, were also addressed by Mr. Fritz J.C. Jang, Secretary General, CNAIC, who set the ball rolling with the Opening Remarks. This was followed by addresses by Mr. Pradeep Kumar Rawat, Director General, India-Taipei Association, Mr. David T.C. Liu, Secretary General, CIECA, & Mr. Peter W.J. Huang, Executive Vice President, TAITRA.

The presentation was again presented on Jan 19, 2011 at Taichung for a 100+ delegates. Prominent participants included Mr. James Chia - Chi Hsiao, Deputy Mayor, Taichung City & Mr. Kim Y. C. Tsai, President of the Entrepreneur Club. The Presentation was well received by the Hosts and local participants in both locations. Members of the Indian Delegation also found the detailed presentation very informative & useful.

The next day a special meeting was organised with Ms. Christina Y. Lui, Minister - Council for Economic Planning & Development, Executive Yuan. Mr. Arun was asked to make the same presentation to this special gathering which also included Deputy Ministers Mr. Wag-Hsiang Hwang & Mr. San, Gee.

Mr. Arun is also the Co-Chairman of FICCI's Science & Technology Committee, Indo-Taiwan & Indo-Korea Joint Business Councils and is on FICCI's Joint Task Force for enhancing India-USA relations. He is also the Convener of the IT & Communications Panel of FICCI's Tamil Nadu State Council.
